Assisted living, the board and care way.

Assisted living means help with the everyday things that have become hard: bathing, dressing, getting to the table, remembering medications. Large communities offer that in apartment buildings. We offer it in a home.

Each Royal Garden home is a house on a residential street, with a small group of residents who eat together and caregivers who know each of them well. Residents keep their routines and their privacy, and families can visit whenever they like.

What daily care looks like.

Every resident has a care plan built around what they need, and it changes as their needs change.

  • Bathing, grooming and personal hygiene
  • Dressing
  • Help at mealtimes
  • Mobility and transfers
  • Medication reminders
  • Incontinence care
  • Breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks cooked in the home
  • Caregivers on site 24 hours a day
  • Physician and podiatrist visits in the home, covered by insurance
  • Rides to local medical appointments on request

Meals, company and the garden.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are cooked in each home’s kitchen, with snacks in between and special diets on request. Holidays and birthdays are celebrated together, musicians visit, and every home has a resident dog. Residents are welcome to bring their own small dog too.

My mother was 87 years old at the time and I remember wondering if she would survive another year. That was almost 11 years ago! My mother is approaching her 99th birthday because of the dedicated and compassionate care she’s received.

Questions families ask

How is this different from a large assisted living community?

The care is similar; the setting is not. With up to six residents in a home, caregivers spend more time with each person, meals are cooked for a table rather than a dining hall, and the house stays quiet.

Can my parent bring their own furniture?

Ask us about the room you’re considering on your tour. We’ll talk through what fits and what we provide.

Do doctors come to the home?

Yes. Physicians, podiatrists and other specialists make insurance-covered visits in the home, and we arrange rides to local appointments on request.

Come see the homes for yourself.

Tell us a little about your loved one and we'll call you to arrange a private tour.
