family-owned since 2000.
Before Royal Garden, Sophia spent years in elderly care. In 2000 she opened her first home to offer seniors a standard of living she hadn’t found anywhere else.
It started with one house.
“I always wanted to create an atmosphere for my guests that I myself would want to live in. Otherwise, I never would have opened my doors.” That was Sophia’s rule when she opened Royal Garden, and it still is.
Today there are three homes, two in Tarzana and one in Valley Glen. They are still small, still family-run, and still built around the idea that residents should be happy, supported and able to flourish.

Sophia runs Royal Garden with her husband Alex, the administrator, and their daughter Rada, who holds an MA in psychology.
The family hires caregivers for experience and for heart, and asks them to build real, trusting relationships with every resident. Our goal has always been for residents to know they’re part of our family.
